Valve Guides

Where an engine set of Guides is supplied we will supply identical valves from one manufacturer where possible. Where stocks are very limited, we may supply a set made up from guides from different manufacturers. Some valves guides are supplied over length and will need to be cut to length prior to fitting – this is indicated in the product description where applicable. Note that, like valves, all oversize guides are numbered individually, rather than the standard guide number with an oversize dimension. It is recommended that new Valves and Springs be fitted together with new Guides as the correct function of each depends on the efficiency of the assembly. Always consult the relevant workshop manual before removing or fitting Valves, Guides and Springs. For efficient function it is essential that the clearance between the valve stem and the guide bore is in accordance with manufacturers’ instructions and that the guide bore and port seat are concentric to within a tolerance of 0.0015”.
